The Ebotse Mile, Benoni’s biggest outdoor swimming event at Rynfield Dam sponsored by Ebotse Golf and Country Estate along with Edge Insurance Brokers and Etana, was held on the 29th October 2011. This year was bigger and better than expected with the challenging weather conditions. Seasoned swimmers braved the choppy water to compete in the various events. For the first time ever in South Africa swimmers had the opportunity to take part in an Open Water Relay Event, where teams consisting of three swimmers swam a total distance of 3 000m, with the winning team Zoom-Zoom ‘A’ taking home the floating trophy. |
